Jülich Meteocloud

CAMS data products

Description

This directory of the meteocloud data archive provides access to global atmospheric composition forecasts of the Copernicus Atmospheric Monitoring Service (CAMS) and to forecasts and reanalyses of the EU projects MACC and MACC-2. In particular, the subdirectories contain the following data products:

Since 2010, global modelling data from the European Project Modelling Atmospheric Composition and Climate (MACC & MACC-2) and from the Copernicus Atmospheric Monitoring Service (CAMS) has been gathered and made publicly available at Forschungszentrum Jülich. The data collection comprises analysis and forecast data for atmospheric composition as well as atmospheric composition data from the MACC reanalysis, all performed with the IFS forecast and data assimilation system at ECMWF. In addition, daily fields from the CAMS Global Fire Assimilation System (GFAS) has been collected beginning with data from 2000. CAMS analysis and forecast data as well as actual GFAS data is being continuously integrated into the data set in near realtime.

MACC and CAMS forecasts of atmospheric composition are available under (cams_forecasts/) and contain data from 7/2010 on from several IFS experiments with varying spatial resolution and number of variables. 3-hourly grib data for CO, NO2, O3, T, q from the operational CAMS forecast is available in the subfolder (cams_hres/) and is updated on a daily basis.

GFAS wildfire data is available in resolution 0.5° (lat./lon.) for the time period 3/2003 to 1/2019 from two IFS experiments in subfolders (ffxr/) and (g6ek/). Since 1/2019, GFASv1.2 data is provided in resolution 0.1° (lat./lon.) and is updated on a daily basis in (gfas12_hres/).

The MACC reanalysis covers the time period 1/2003 to 12/2012 and was calculated with the coupled system IFS-MOZART. We provide monthly IFS output and 3-hourly MOZART output for 46 variables in (macc_rean/). The detailed 3-hourly output is not available on the ECMWF MARS archive.
